her language

poetpalettes:

i walked in and saw her

curled up on the couch

propped up by her sadness

quietly, i sat next to her

bringing her legs over my knees

and resting my hand on her back

"want to talk about it?"

an unsure nod

"i’ll be right back"

and she stared after me, unreadable

i walked in with the dictionaries in my arms

brushes

paints

sketchpad

and in that moment, i spoke her language
